Unbelievable. I recently read an article and I want to pass on some information to you about what I read. Once again, it was unbelievable.
Please, and I urge you to PLEASE be careful when you are throwing away any empty drug containers. Apparently what can happen if you are taking any type of narcotic or other addictive drug, is that someone can go through your garbage to find out what you threw away. For the most part, it shouldn’t matter if people know if you are taking something for pain, unless that person has an ulterior motive.
That person going through your trash may come back later and rob you for your prescription drugs. I don’t want to scare you, but I do want you to be aware that your drug containers need to be thrown away after their labels have been taken off and destroyed.
It will also benefit you to be careful about talking in public about any prescriptions you may be taking. Someone overhearing your conversation might not have your best interests at heart.
Oh, and if you get mail order prescriptions, consider purchasing a locking mailbox. Please be careful getting your mail also. Remember, your prescription isn’t worth your life.
A little prevention can go a long way. If you do take any medications, when the containers are empty, please take the labels off and destroy them and then throw the container away. One of the easiest ways to get the label off is to soak it in water if it won’t just peel off. Also refrain from talking in public about any prescriptions you are taking.
