Are You In For The Bailout?

Unless you live in a cave you have probably heard over and over how the United States is undergoing a “bailout” procedure. According to Wikipedia a bailout in economics and finance is a term used to describe a situation where a bankrupt or nearly bankrupt entity, such as a corporation or a bank, is given a fresh injection of liquidity, in order to meet its short term obligations.

You may be asking how this relates to your health. Very easy. Too many people in our current society consider their health something that the healthcare industry can bail them out of later! People will comment that life is short, enjoy life now because you might get hit by a truck tomorrow. However, look at the other side. What if your life is long? Wouldn’t you want to enjoy it?

Sacrificing today for tomorrow’s enjoyment can too easily be traded for enjoying today and sacrificing tomorrow. Instead of eating the salads, exercising, and reducing stress now to have a healthier overall life, most people choose to eat the ice cream, watch television, and whine and complain about whatever comes their way! Then when the unfortunate happens, the doctors are right there to try to help them. However, most of the time the damage is done and their life is never the same.

I’ve met a number of diabetics who will eat sugar thinking that the effects won’t hit them. Then when the doctors need to bail them out by performing an amputation to save their life, the patient will get angry with the doctor.

Please get your health in order now, so you don’t require a “health bailout” of any kind.
