Where's MY Food?

The Best Foods To Keep You Healthy Are…

  • Soda.

  • A big fat piece of chocolate cake with ooey gooey chocolate icing.

  • Fried chicken.

  • None of the above.

Why is it that our favorite foods are never listed on those lists of foods that God designed for us to eat to stay healthy? Of course the answer to the above question is “none of the above”, but we still keep trying to get our favorites listed on these healthy food lists. Just this past year, I’ve heard how healthy wine is, how wonderful dark chocolate is for your health and even that coffee is very healthy too! YEAH my favorite foods finally made it, or have they? Some of the main questions you want to ask yourself when dealing with foods and their contribution to your health are:

  • How processed is this food? The more processed it is the worse for your health.

  • How much sugar does this food contain? The more sugar, especially added in the many forms of added sugar, the worse for your health.

  • How green is this food? The darker green in a natural way, not from any chemical additives, the healthier the food.

  • Will this food make me feel bloated or tired after I eat it? The worse you feel within 2 hours after you eat a food should be a gauge that you should eat that food much less, in much smaller portions, or not at all.

When you are choosing what to eat please think of your overall health, not just in the short term, but also many years down the road.

Before taking your eating habits into your own hands, be sure you know what type of health you are dealing with. Many times people do the “in” diet, or something they’ve read in a book, but never put much thought into the diet itself. There are many diets out there and not everyone can benefit from the different diets. If you are seriously considering eating healthier for life, please let Dr. Hendricksen help you adjust your eating habits for your personal body style, health and desires! Don’t go it alone!
