Milk

The new milk!

As most of you know I am working very hard at informing as many people as I can on alternative ways to health and well being. Believe it or not milk and dairy products are the items I catch the most resistance about. If I tell a patient to try to back off of the dairy products so their sinuses can clear a little, it is as if I am taking candy from a baby.

Before I go any further, I do want to clarify that I love to educate people and give them as much information as I can, but please remember you as an individual have a responsibility to yourself to do your own research, and make your own decisions! With that being said, now you can learn that the milk on the market now is not the milk most of us are used to drinking. The change? Processing of the milk!

The first step in the processing of the milk actually starts with the cow! Instead of the dairy cow being able to go out into the fields and eat grass at her leisure, she is now forced a diet of soy and high quantities of proteins to triple her milk production. This puts a great strain on her body so she is forced heavy doses of antibiotics as well. Sick cow…sick milk!

When the milk is collected, it is pasteurized killing valuable enzymes in the milk making the milk difficult to digest and putting a strain on our body. Butterfat in the milk is removed or homogenized destroying the vitamin A and the vitamin D that is beneficial. Vitamin D in a synthetic form is then put back into the milk. Unfortunately, the synthetic version of vitamin D can be toxic to the liver.

Oh yeah, about the calcium. Cow’s milk is rich in phosphorus, which, when combined with calcium, can prevent you from absorbing the calcium. That is why most other countries consume significantly less milk and have significantly fewer cases of osteoporosis.

Therefore, the “new milk” of today is much different than the healthy cow’s milk of yesterday that most of us grew up enjoying!
