The weather reports seriously underreport the droughts going on every day. These droughts that are not being reported do not happen in the lakes, streams and rivers around us, but are happening far too often in our own bodies. The best part about these droughts though is that you can easily replenish that water deficiency!
Drinking inadequate amounts of water every day can lead to a number of different symptoms that we can perceive as problems arising from other sources. For example, headaches are one of the most common symptoms of not drinking enough water. Imagine suffering from frequent headaches for years, going to different doctors, taking different medications, buying different pillows only to find out that if you drank enough water every day you wouldn’t have suffered from those headaches.
Dry skin, muscle aches, joint pains, and yes, even back pain can all be caused by a lack of water intake. Wouldn’t it be easier to drink the water than suffer from all of those ill effects of “human drought”? You may not like having to drink water for one reason or another, but do you like to rub lotions on your skin, rub muscle creams all over your aches and pains, suffer from achy joints and back pain?
In the end drinking adequate water saves you money too! Drinking water is practically free compared to all of the items you need to buy to overcome all of the symptoms from not drinking the water.
The benefits of drinking water are amazing! Better breathing, improved digestion, increased mental clarity and more physical energy are just some of the great things you can experience from drinking adequate water.
How Much is Enough
Not everyone requires 8 8oz glasses of water. Proper water consumption comes from using your weight as a guide (for some this is even more of an incentive to lose weight.
Here is the formula:
Body weight/2= number of ounces of water you should drink daily.
Remember that alcohol, caffeine, and sugar laden drinks do not count toward water intake. In fact for every one of these drinks consumed, drink twice that amount in water to combat the dehydrating effects.
Remember to ask your doctor what type of water is best for you. Certain medical conditions fare better with distilled water and other medical conditions do better with mineral water.
