Where Could It Be?

Have you ever looked for an important item that you needed? Did you stop looking after the second place you tried didn’t reveal that item? If the item was that important, don’t you think you would look until you found it regardless of what it took? Imagine how hard you would look for your passport if you were leaving for a well planned vacation in a few hours and realized it was lost!

Your body doesn’t stop looking for lost things either, especially when it comes to nutrients. Eat a nutrient depleted candy bar and your body says, “I know I just ate something, but where are all of those important vitamins and minerals?” Then your body sends out that message of intense hunger and you start searching for more food. This time you might grab some chips with empty calories and the hunger cycle continues.

Can you see how easy it is to think that you are eating without actually putting anything useful in your body? Once you begin to eat wholesome foods, like fresh fruits and vegetables, and lean proteins, your body will actually become satisfied, stopping that crazy hunger cycle. Just think about how many people become overweight because they just can’t put down that bag of baby carrots!  Sounds silly, huh?

Did you ever lock your keys in your car? It is so easy to stare at those keys knowing that they are right there, but, yet, you can’t do anything to get into your car. Those keys make it possible to open the door, but you can’t open the door without the keys. Your body reacts the same way with processed foods.
