Fibromyalgia Is a Challenging Disease

Source: The Tillonsburg News  (12/11/2009)

If you like reading columns by other people out there who really understand what you are going through, then you are going to really enjoy this one!

Here are some quotes you may find familiar:

If you are lucky your doctor eventually realizes that it isn't all in your head, and that you actually have something wrong with you. You are diagnosed with Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome [CFS]. The diseases are so similar that you could get diagnosed with either one or both! Welcome to the club! You are one of approximately one and a half million people with Fibro/CFS.

Some doctors, even some here in Tillsonburg still don't believe Fibro is a real disease although it is listed in the World Health Organization's list of diseases. Many doctors do not know how to diagnosis by using the tender point test.

But there is good news you may feel like you have been hit by a truck everyday but this for the rest of your life disease but you won't die from it, you will only wish you could die.

The good news is that this person actually offers good, honest answers about how to combat the pain:

There are some things you can do to help, with out taking the delightful array of chemicals you physician will put you on. To control the pain you need to exercise which is about the last thing you want to do. Aqua-fit at our community centre is a great way to exercise as the water cushions your joints. You have to start small and gradually build up your stamina. After a few weeks of two to three sessions a week, your pain level with decrease substantially.

Change your diet. No smoking; no drinking; and no caffeine, all of which aggravates your condition. You know how to eat properly with a balanced diet, but now you have to do it. You have to cut back stress which is probably the most difficult thing. If you have to work then your family must take over your household duties. Most people who work will find that is about all they can do in life.

Wow!  This person really gets it!  The problem for the average person reading this is that doing all of this is nearly impossible based on the knowledge they already have!  Exercise!?!  This person is right, exercising IS about "the last thing you want to do"!  And if you push to hard or do it the wrong way, you will certainly make your situation much worse!

Chage your diet?  This person says, "you already know how to eat properly with a balanced diet", but do you really?  The average person really knows very little about eating a good, balanced diet.

The bottom line is that this is a great article, and if you've ready my FREE book, Facing the Fibromyalgia Diagnosis, you'll understand why!  The only thing left, at that point, is HOW do you do all of that?  How do you go about making the necessary lifestyle changes that will give you your life back?

That is where Leaving Fibromyalgia Behind comes in!  It's a guide book that will tell you exactly how, step by step, to make the changes necessary to leave the pain behind!  Please consider not only buying it, but actually following the action steps included at the end of each chapter!  And take advantage of the included support!
