Depression and pain
Posted Tuesday, 10 November 2009 By Granzy4
As an FM sufferer myself, I have learned that before you consider meds, you've got to do everything you can to reduce or stop the pain. The meds can send you into a downward spiral. Sometimes if you can tweak things a little, it makes others fall into place. I find the trigger points - not the tender points - are a huge problem for me. I use the Thera-cane and Prossage I got from Dr. Hendricksen. Oh what a relief it is when I have worked them out properly! Proper sleep is another biggie for me. Lack of sleep can cause pain and depression by itself. By following the guidelines set up by Dr. H, I have found a good measure of relief. I think pulling the plug on the TV in my bedroom was a lot of my problem. I should have known it would help because it was extremely difficult for me to do. I thought I was watching it until I got tired and then shutting it off so I could perhaps get some sleep. I was actually watching it and drifting in and out of sleep - which was not a restful sleep - and then I would shut it off because I was tired. No WONDER I was tired! Now I go to bed at a set time and get up at the same time EVERY day. It all works together to end the cycle of pain.
Depression help

That is a difficult situation. If you are on medication, the medication may be causing depression. Please talk to your doctor about this situation as soon as you can. If your doctor is not willing to help you, you may need to consider another doctor.
You can always find a qualified counselor to talk to also. Depression is not something to be taken lightly when you are on medication.
MS a possibility?

How can you determine if MS is present with fibromyalgia? I've had episode of complete numbness from my face to my ankle on one side that lasted over a month; no cause was found. Does fibromyalgia causes episodes of palayis or complete numbness in the waist down from time to time?
MS a possibility?

Your doctor would need to run specific tests to find out if you have MS. With symptoms of paralysis, even if not permanent, it is worth searching diligently for a doctor who will tell you what is going on and what to do about it. Paralysis is not a part of fibromyalgia so find out what is causing it.
supplements

I have Neuropathy besides the Fibromyalgia. Symptoms... it is somewhat confusing which is which. Do I treat them separately being the symptoms for both are similar? I do not take any prescription drugs for either one. I am taking supplements from the Health Food Store that they recommended.
Have been taking Vit B1 & Vit B12 for the Neuropathy; Acidophilus Vit C & Magnesium with Zinc for Fibromyalgia.
I have Pain most of the day. More so in the morning. Fatigue Foggy thinking. Depressed.
This may not be of much help for you. I do appreciate any suggestions you have to offer

I would recommend, if you can, going through my BioDetoxification program. It will get you on the path to the supplements that you should be taking for your specific case. You would be amazed at how much better you will be doing after you clear the toxins from your body in a comprehensive way.
sexual stimulation

Is there something people that need nerve desensitizers can take to help increase sexual stimulation?
sexual stimulation

First, I highly recommend making sure that your relationship with your partner is well. That can be one of the first reasons that sexual stimulation is not occurring. (I work from a least invasive, most healing to most invasive, lease healing philosophy.)
If everything is going well from a relationship standpoint, see if there is any possible way you can come off of the nerve desensitizers. Working on lifestyle changes may really help.
Lastly, if you can't change any of the above, I recommend Biotics BioDrive for women...
You can go to Biotics Individual Products on the menu to you right to purchase some. (If you are a member, be sure to sign in first to receive your discount.) Or you can copy and paste the above link into your browser.
Good luck in that important aspect of a relationship.
Fibromyalgia Diagnosis- real?
Posted Tuesday, 03 November 2009 By lmf
Is there really a thing called fibromyalgia or is it just a Hodge Podge for symptoms the doctors don't know why you have them?
Fibromyalgia Diagnosis- real?
Posted Thursday, 05 November 2009 By DrHendricksen
Yes, the diagnosis of fibromyalgia is real. Unfortunately, there are many doctors using it as a Hodge Podge and don't do much research to find out if the patient is suffering from something else or not before giving the patient a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. That type of diagnosing only harms those individuals who truly have fibromyalgia.
There are also people who suffer from fibromyalgia like symptoms and diagnose themselves with the condition, making the real diagnosis less important.
